Angela (Angel) Borst Bowen , 59, was taken from us too soon on January 31, 2022. She is survived by her marvelous husband, John Bowen; 6 awesome children: Erika (Mark) Eckart, Sean (Rita) Eckart, Christina (Eric) Larsen, Ebba (Mike) Bowen, Elizabeth (Timothy) Smolen, and Lauren (Nick) Bowen; 12 amazing grandchildren: Giana, Jordan, Ella, Ava, Archer, Madison, Aiden, Jayden, Natalie, Ariana, Jaxson, and Daniel; her dear siblings: Gina (Paul) Ziccardi and Louis (Adriana) Corolla; and many wonderful nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her loving mother, Rose Kudsk; her father, Gerald Corolla; and her brother Frank Corolla. She most recently resided in Otterbein, Indiana, having previously lived in Hampshire, Illinois, and having grown up and lived for many years in Northlake, Illinois. She lived a full and wonderful life, caring for her children, grandchildren, sometimes bonus children, husband, and her much beloved animals, in particular her macaw, Dunkin. She enjoyed taking in strays of all species, preparing copious feasts, throwing amazing parties, sticking up for the underdog regardless of the cost, listening to music too loudly, and dancing like no one was watching. Angel embodied compassion and kindness; everyone who interacted with her was touched by her empathetic and celebratory spirit. Our hearts are broken by her passing.

We will celebrate Angel's life on Sunday, February 6, 2022 from 1 PM until time of services at 4 PM, at Shoemaker Funeral Home, 26 S.
