Barbara Lou (Gick) Smith , 76, of North Fort Myers, FL & formerly of Templeton, died, Friday, March 15, 2019. She was born, November 30, 1942, in Lafayette, to the late Robert & Verlyn (Carter) Gick. She married Kenneth A. Smith, March 26, 1961, in Wabash, IN; he died, July 12, 2005. Barb graduated from Fowler High School in 1961. She was a Bookkeeper/Account Manager & had owned her own flower shop in Oxford. Barb enjoyed spending time with family; especially her Grandkids and Great Granddaughter were the highlights of any trip to Indiana or Tennessee. She enjoyed working jigsaw puzzles, crosswords, Sudoku, and any other problem solving activity which contributed to her spry mind.  Living in Florida, she would participate in various events at her clubhouse and recently hosted a table at a formal tea party. She even would go on evening golf cart security rides with her great neighbors. She loved traveling and going on adventures with her Daughter. She never knew what surprises each trip would provide. Purdue basketball lost a major fan with her passing and she planned her schedule around their televised games. Thank goodness for the Big 10 network.

Barb is survived by Daughter, Jodi (Tim Walker) Smith-Gick of Pittsboro, IN, Son, Troy (Kim) Smith of New Tazewell, TN, 4 Grandchildren, Samuel Jacob Gick, Ethan Gick both of Pittsboro IN, Lane Smith, Ryleigh Smith both of New Tazewell, TN, Great Granddaughter, Cora Smith of Brownsburg, IN, Sister , Suzanne Terry of North Fort Myers, FL, Daughter by another Mother, Linda (Mike) Koeneman New Haven, IN & Adopted Grandchildren, Hannah Koeneman, Sarah (Will) Buford, Micah Koeneman from New Haven, IN. She is preceded in death by a Sister, Janet Jones & Brother, Robert "Buggs" Gick.

Graveside Service will be at, 10 AM, Saturday, March 30, 2019, at Mound Cemetery, with Danny Smith officiating. A Celebration of Barb's Life, will take place from 1-5 PM at, her Daughter, Jodi's home, 318 Hawthorne Drive, Pittsboro, IN.
