Beulah "Ferne" Garriott , 77, of Otterbein, IN, peacefully entered eternal rest on November 24, 2021, at IU Health Arnett Hospital. She was born December 27, 1943, in Nancy, KY, to the late Edwin & Lulu Merrick.

Ferne was primarily a homemaker, gardener & good ole southern cook her entire life. She loved her family, watching sports & Joel Osteen on Sunday mornings. Her life was a living example of her favorite Bible verse, Ephesians 4:32 – "And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you."

Ferne is survived by her 2 daughters, Gail (Dan) Green, Otterbein, Sarah Brouillette, Gilbert, AZ; her son, Tony (Jenny) Garriott, West Lafayette; 10 grandchildren, Mandy (Dale) Whitaker,  Keith (Chrystal) Green, Ashley (Ceven) Goodman,  Amber (Jesse) Becker, Kordell Green, Christy (Brad) Koehler, Holli (Blake) Schoen, Trent (Amy) Brouillette, Connor Schuster, Wes Garriott; plus 20 great-grandchildren & 2 great-great-grandchildren, 3 sisters, Gladys McCoy, Nicholasville, KY, Edith Campbell, Lexington, KY & Linda Dalton, Lexington, KY, & her many nephews & nieces. She was preceded in death by her sister, Hazel McGowen & her 3 brothers, Wade Merrick, Bruce Merrick & Joe Merrick. All of these she loved & touched deeply.

Family & friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Wednesday, December 1, 2021, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at Shoemaker Funeral Home, Otterbein. Memorial Service will be held at Shoemaker Funeral Home Thursday, December 2, 2021, from 10:00 AM with Larry McMillan officiating. Ferne will be laid to rest at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens. As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be made to the Benton Community CO-OP Food & Service.
