Carol L. Bruner , 90, of Cayuga, Indiana, formerly of Otterbein, Indiana, was called to her Heavenly home at 8:12 p.m., Wednesday, February 1, 2023, at Clinton Gardens in Clinton, Indiana where she had resided the past several months.

Born Carol Lee Webb on April 9, 1932 in Coal Branch, Indiana, she was the daughter of the late Arnold John & Bessie (Hines) Webb. She graduated from Perrysville High School, in 1950. She married Robert Powell, in 1952. She later married Paul Wayne Bruner, on September 5, 1969, in Las Vegas, Nevada. He preceded her in death on December 5, 2001. Carol formerly worked at Morris Flamingo & retired from Teepak in Danville, Illinois. She worked for a time during her retirement as a grocery clerk. Carol attended the Oxford Church of Christ, in Oxford, Indiana, the former Antioch Fellowship Christian Church & more recently the Waterman Baptist Church, in Lodi, Indiana.

Carol is survived by a Sister, Gertrude Dunham, of Danville, Illinois; a Daughter, Teresa Swanson, of Beaverton, Oregon; a Son, Gregory Powell, of Leavenworth, Kansas; 2 Step-Daughters, Peggy (Bill) Anderson & Benita (Gil) Smith; 2 Step-Sons, Russell (Bev) Bruner & Dennis (Linda)Bruner; several Grandchildren & Great-Grandchildren & numerous Nieces, Nephews & Great-Nieces & Great-Nephews. The last few years Carol was cared for by her nephew, whom she thought of as a son, David (Mary) Lawlyes, of Perrysville, IN & her Great-Niece, Sarah (Joe) McClanahan, of Coal Branch, Indiana. Carol was preceded in death by 4 Sisters, Doris Nelson, Lois Nicklas, Mary Rice & LaVada Lawlyes & 3 brothers, John "Jack" Webb, Gerald Webb & Bill Webb.

Carol was known for her sassiness and was never hesitant to speak her mind. She remained a faithful Christian with a generous heart & was always willing to lend a helping hand wherever it was needed. She enjoyed doing puzzles, visiting with her family, friends & neighbors, traveling, reading, playing cards, music & family gatherings.

It was Carol's wish to be cremated with private family graveside rites. Burial will be at Griffin Cemetery, in Templeton, Indiana. Shoemaker Funeral Home, Otterbein, is assisting Carol's Family.
