Cort L. Dimmich , 61, passed away peacefully in his home on June 7, 2026; after a lengthy battle with heart failure.

Born on December 21, 1964, to Larry Dimmich and Lorna Campbell Dimmich, Cort was a graduate of Benton Central High School, Class of 1983, where he was a proud three sport athlete. He continued his education at Purdue University, receiving his bachelor's degree in 1988. He later went on to earn his Master's Degree. In 1986, Cort married Angela Miller-Royal. Although they later divorced, Angela remained an important part of his life and survives him.

He began his career at St. Elizabeth Hospital where he later became Director of Environmental Services. He continued in this field with Aramark, Purdue University, and Wabash College. Throughout his professional life, Cort was dedicated to helping those around him, including many years as an advocate of United Way.

Cort was a devoted sports fan who rarely missed an opportunity to cheer on the Purdue Boilermakers or his beloved Chicago Cubs. He found great joy in sharing his passion for sports with his family, creating lasting memories while attending games, watching from home, and celebrating victories together. His love for the game was matched only by the love he had for those closest to him.

Above all, Cort cherished his family. He is survived by his daughter, Kara Meyer; his son, Nate Dimmich (wife Maggie); his father, Larry Dimmich; his brother, Cary Dimmich; and his beloved grandchildren, Payne, Crew, and Sloane Meyer, and Kaylin, Faith, and Cort Dimmich.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Lorna Adwell.

Cort will be remembered for his devotion to family, his loyalty to friends, and his unwavering support of the teams he loved. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

There will be a celebration of life held for Cort at Waltz Pub and Grill, 1050 Kalberer Road, West Lafayette, on Monday, June 15, 2026, from 5 to 8 PM.
