Dennis "Denny" "Coach" Musser , 76, of Otterbein, died Monday, June 2, 2025. He was born September 2, 1948, in Lafayette, to the late Alvin & Jean (Hammer) Musser. He married, Sharon (Moore) Musser, March 17, 1973, in Logansport; she preceded him in death, May 31, 2012. Denny was a 1966 graduate of Otterbein High School & a 1972 graduate of Purdue University. He had worked in ag sales for various companies & most recently Fielder's Choice/Monsanto; now Bayer Ag. Denny had also farmed with his family his entire life. He was a member of the Otterbein United Methodist Church & the Otterbein Rotary Club; where he was very active with RYLA. He was an avid Boilermaker, Los Angeles Dodgers & Benton Central Bison fan. Denny loved spending time with his family & friends, especially coaching & attending his kids & granddaughters sporting events. He spent most of his adult life coaching & volunteering with youth sports, from t-ball age to high school age, through multiple generations & when he was not coaching it was not uncommon to find him at a sporting event.
Denny is survived by his Daughter, Jill (Nate) Linder, Son, Kyle (Jenny) Musser, 4 Granddaughters, McKenzie Musser & Chloe, Mia & Madie Linder, 3 Brothers, Martin (Deb) Bruce (Deb) & Terry Joe (Candis) Musser, 2 Sister-in-Laws, Connie Musser & Sue Moore & numerous Nieces & Nephews. He is preceded in death by 2 Brothers, Glen & Dave Musser & Nephew, Matthew Musser.
Visitation will be Monday, June 9, 2025 from 4-8 PM at the Otterbein United Methodist Church 405 E. Oxford St., Otterbein, IN. Funeral Services will be at 10 AM, Tuesday, June 10, 2025 at the church, with Pastor John Randall officiating. Denny wasn't a suit & tie kind of person so casual dress is requested. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are requested to be given to Otterbein United Methodist Church or Otterbein Rec Association. Shoemaker Funeral Home, Otterbein is assisting Denny's family.
