Donald "Don" J. Herbst , 58, of Fowler, died, Saturday, August 26, 2023, He was born, August 6, 1965, in Benton County to Warren Herbst & the late Nora "Cookie" (Wagner) Herbst. He was a 1984 graduate of Benton Central High School. He had worked as a Police Officer for Hoopeston, IL. He has served in the United States Army. Don married, Rhonda (Boundy) Herbst, July 23, 2010, in Benton County; she survives. He enjoyed fishing, listening to music, gardening, playing poker & cooking. Don was known for his sarcastic comments & his sense of humor.

Surviving with his Wife, Rhonda Herbst, are 3 Daughters, Natasha (Cole) Elson, Kristyn Garabedian & Brittany (Joey) Lamson, Son, Justin Herbst, 5 Step-Daughters, Heather Anderson (Fiancé, Brett Myers), Katelyn Krol, Mill (Chris) Horner, Alicia Martin & Sarah Kelnhofer, Step-Son, David Krol, 14 Grandchildren, Allyson, Emma, Rylan, Owen, Nathan, Grayson, Lilly, Xander, Hannah, Brock (Mary), Noah, Earl, Braxton Terrell & Blake Myers, 1 Great-Granddaughter, Wren, 2 Sisters, Anne Oberlander & Tasha Allen, 2 Brothers, Shane (Linda) Morton & Shaun (Denise) Foutch, his special partners in mischief, Aunt Patty & Aunt Clara & several Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Nieces & Nephews. He is preceded in death by his Mom, Nora "Cookie" Herbst & Brother, Dennis Herbst & Grandson, Kyle.
