Dorothy Anne Horwedel , 91, of Otterbein, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 12, at Cumberland Pointe Health Campus. She was born on January 16, 1934, in Fort Worth, Texas, to the late Owen and Dorothy (Riggins) Deupree. Anne married the love of her life, Lowell C. Horwedel, on June 21, 1958, in North Hollywood, California; he preceded her in death, October 20, 2012.

A gifted artist and passionate scholar, Anne pursued her love of art through formal education, earning her degree in Art History from UCLA and later completing her master's degree at Purdue University. She was a well-known artist in her own right, exhibiting her work in numerous art shows across the United States. Several of her paintings remain part of permanent collections, a lasting testament to her talent and dedication to the arts.

Anne was a devoted member of the Greater Lafayette Museum of Art for many years, as well as a long-time member of St. Charles Catholic Church in Otterbein. Anne's creativity, warmth, and enduring love for her family, faith, and the arts will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her children: Mary Fultz (Mike), Nancy Willard, and Charlie Horwedel (Sheri); her grandchildren: Brandon Fultz (Lori), Sierra Fultz, Samantha Kiser (Kane), Tyler Horwedel, Garrett Horwedel (Carly), Shyann Horwedel, Kayse Willard and Kameron Willard; and eight great-grandchildren, all of whom brought her immense joy. She is preceded in death by 2 Brothers, Owen & Lane Deupree.

The family will hold a private remembrance of life in her honor. Anne's family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the nurses and staff at Cumberland Pointe Health Campus and Elara Hospice Care for their compassionate and loving care.
