Douglas Edwin Meece , 76, of Boswell, died Tuesday, February 20, 2024; surrounded by his loving family. He was born August 2, 1947, in Somerset, KY, to the late Henry Edward & Sylvia Alene (Richardson) Meece. He was a 1967 graduate of Boswell High School & served in the United States Army from 1969 until 1971. He married Janice Sue (Winchester) Meece, November 24, 1967, in Boswell; she survives. He had worked at Wabash National for 28 years; retiring in 2010. Doug was a member of the Wabash Valley Bible Baptist Church & the Otterbein Masonic Lodge #561. He enjoyed fishing, NASCAR & college basketball & was an avid Indiana University fan.
Doug is survived by his Wife, Janice Meece, Daughter, Missy (Husband, Tavis) Martin, Son, Douglas (Wife, Erin) Meece, 4 Grandchildren, Michael (Wife, Cathy) Reitz, Aidan Douglas Meece, Graeme Ryder Meece & Charlotte Ryan Meece, 2 Great-Grandchildren, Brittany Ann Meece & Caleb Joseph Meece, Sister, Gola May McDonalds, 7 Nieces & 3 Nephews. He is preceded in death by 3 Brothers, Mitchell, Bennie & Carl Meece & a Nephew.
A Celebration of Doug's Life will be Sunday, March 3, 2024, from 2 PM until time of Memorial Service at 3PM, with Pastor J. Dave Adams officiating, at the Wabash Valley Bible Baptist Church, 2320 US-41, Attica, IN 47918. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Benton Community Foundation.
