Elaine Gephart , 79, of Fishers, Indiana passed away, Tuesday, April 27, 2021, at her home. Elaine was born in Williamsport, Indiana on February 22, 1942 to the late Hobart & Mary (Dowling) Liptrap. Elaine grew up on a farm in Pine Village, Indiana. She had 3 Siblings, Wendall Liptrap (preceded in death), Denny (Virginia) Liptrap of Nicholasville, Kentucky, & Pam (Rick) Kaylor of Buckeye, Arizona.

Elaine was a graduate of Pine Village High School in 1960. She later attended Purdue University and graduated in 1964 with a degree in Home Economics. While attending Purdue, she married Joe Gephart, on September 2 ^nd , 1962. Her first job out of college was teaching 7 ^th & 8 ^th grade at Round Grove School. After teaching for 2 years, Elaine joined Joe in working on the farm. She became Joe's right-hand lady while making meals then quickly advanced to field work and tractor driving.

Joe & Elaine settled on their first farm in Greenhill, Indiana. They had 2 Daughters, Sue Ellen (Chris) Chopp, of Fishers, Indiana & Sally (Greg) Mann, of Zionsville, Indiana; 4 beloved Grandchildren, Caroline Chopp, Joe Chopp, Jake Mann & Luke Mann. Her Nieces & Nephews were very important to her as well; Pam (Tom) Robertson, David (Kay) Gephart, Nancy (John) Chapman, Dan (Linda) Gephart, Angie (Eddie) Galloway & Tracy (Donnie) Spickard.

Elaine greatly enjoyed being involved in the community and church. She was a life-long member of Armstrong Methodist Church where she played the organ and piano on Sunday mornings. She was a member of the United Methodist Women's group, PEO, Delta Sigma Kappa sorority and relished time with her bible study ladies in Fishers. Elaine had many talents and loved to spend time playing the piano, sewing, quilting, cooking and competing in a mean game of euchre with her grandchildren. Joe & Elaine had many good times boating with family and friends at Lake Cumberland & Raccoon Lake. Elaine was passionate about watching Purdue sports and traveling around to watch her grandkids play sports. Many fun memories were made going to Purdue basketball games, traveling and enjoying sunsets on Sanibel Island.

A private family funeral service will be on Friday, May 7 ^th at 2:30 p.m. at Armstrong Chapel in Otterbein, Indiana. Burial will follow at the Armstrong Cemetery.
