Elmer "Rod" Tarter, 76, of Fowler, died Friday, October 10, 2025. He was born, April 4, 1949, in Lafayette, to the late Ernest & Alberta (Tyler) Tarter. He married, Carrie (Spencer) Tarter, March 31, 1967, in Boswell; she preceded him in death July 22, 2024. He had worked at VisKase, in Kentland. Rod enjoyed fishing, cooking & working in his yard. He was a great storyteller & bullshitter & he loved the women.

Rod is survived by his Son, Josh (Sandra) Tarter & Sister, Loria (Dale) Letson. He is preceded in death by his Wife, Carrie, Son, Jake Tarter & Brother, James Tarter.
