G. Esther Tingley , 89, of West Lafayette & formerly of Boswell, died, Thursday, February 27, 2020. She was born, December 27, 1930, in Boswell, to the late Jasper & Mearl (Smith) Carlile. She graduated from Boswell High School, in 1948, received her Bachelor's degree from Indiana State Teacher's College, in 1952 & her Master's degree from Purdue University, in 1962. She married, Richard Tingley, June 22, 1952, in Boswell; he died, January 1, 1995. She later married Edgar Tingley; he died, July 11, 2010. Esther taught for several years with the Benton Community School Corporation. She was a member of the Bethany Presbyterian Church, Lafayette. She enjoyed reading & watching basketball.

Esther is survived by her Son, David (Laurie) Tingley, Daughter, Jane Daily, 3 Granddaughters, Kate Tingley, Holly Garnett & Jena (Adam) Green & 2 Great-Granddaughters, Kayla Tingley & Ada Garnett. She is preceded in death by 2 Brothers, Robert & Keith Carlile, 3 Sisters, Pauline Carlile, Dallice Koerner & Hellen Rock, Grandson, Timothy Daily & Son-in-Law, Ralph Daily.

Visitation will be, Tuesday, March 3, 2020, from 11 AM until time of services at 1 PM, with Pastor Kevin Bowers officiating, at Shoemaker Funeral Home, Otterbein. Burial will be at Boswell Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be given to Franciscan Health Foundation, memo "Palliative Care", 1501 Hartford St., Lafayette, IN 47904.
