Glenda Ann (Munsey) Morris, AKA Mom, Sis, Grammy, GG, Aunt Min, one of the Three Amigos, passed away peacefully Tuesday, June 11, 2024 at her home. She was born December 23, 1939 in Nancy, Kentucky to the late Thurman P. and Irene I. (Hislope) Munsey. Glenda was a graduate of Otterbein High School.  She married Joe Morris on September 19, 1964, he survives.

Surviving along with her husband are her three sons: Kit (Tracy) of Templeton, Shane (Melissa) of Oxford and Lance (Shea) of Oxford; three granddaughters:  Lindsay Morris of Lafayette, McKenzie (Landon) Johnson of West Lebanon and Cheyanne Morris of Tennessee; a grandson:  Travis Nantz of Florida; two great-grandchildren Charlie and Wren Johnson of West Lebanon. She is preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.

She was active in the community and served in many capacities over the years. Her life was summed up well by her granddaughter, McKenzie: "They say that life is not about the number of breaths you take but of the moments that take your breath away. Although grandma began to slip away she had never lost that sort of strength she had always had, even as she grew old. Her voice never failed to give us the comfort we needed as well as the best of advice. Her spunk, her sense of humor, and her heart were one of a kind.

A woman of pride and courage, my grandmother was always firm for what she believed in, and it is from her that I learned from a young age to stay strong. But grandma was more than just a strong figure; she was also a woman of gentle smiles and a soothing touch. I remember how she used to smile a lot in response to different statements, for she was not always a person of many words. I remember too how she would whistle, hum, or sing the lines of a favorite song when there was silence, or while cooking dinner, folding laundry, or just from walking from one room to another. Always chipper as could be. She loved to make up her own funny songs and if you joined in on her silly ways it was sure to end with giggles.

There are so many other things I will remember forever about her, like the way she loved drawing and painting, her love for gardening, birds, (and cowboys), teaching us granddaughters as young girls all of the old fashion ways and letting us live out our imaginations fully. Everything we did she was so excited about and was sure to make us feel perfect. And it's during this moment that I realize how in the end, what we remember best are not really the grand things, but all the tiny yet necessary bits of a person's whole.

As much as I could go on and on about all the wonderful things my grandmother was I'm afraid that there is only so much that my voice and emotions can handle. I believe it would suffice to say that having her as my grandmother was one of the best things in my life.

While all of us are deeply grieved by the loss of one of the pillars in our family, we are also thankful for the chance to of had her and the chance to of loved her. After all, not too many people have had the privilege of knowing someone as remarkable as she. We may have lost her physically, but we firmly believe, as she also does, that one day we will reunite again. And as eagerly as we wait for that day, we keep her in our minds and hearts, where her memory will live on for as long as we do."
