Jack Everett Cripe , of Otterbein, born December 10, 1930 went to his heavenly home on September 12, 2020.  He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Lois Cripe, his daughter Paula (Paul) West of Terre Haute, IN, and son Duane (Robbie) of Austin, TX.  Also surviving are four grandchildren Craig West of Poolesville, MD, Laura Cripe of Austin TX, Erin (Jeremy) Peters of Coosada, AL, and Amanda Cripe of Austin, TX.  Surviving also are his sister, Judy (Alan) of Indian Harbour Beach, FL and a brother Frank (Sue) of Elkhart, IN.

Jack served in the Navy during the Korean war and one of his memorable duties was being a radio operator on a naval dirigible (blimp).  Jack worked for the Xerox Corporation for 28 years until his retirement.  He was an active member of Otterbein United Methodist Church for 66 years and a Lifetime member of Otterbein American Legion Martin Kennedy Post #125.

Jack loved to fish anywhere there was water especially on Wheeler Lake near Rogersville, Alabama and at the beach in Port Aransas, Texas. He and Lois enjoyed being with family whether on cruise ships, the lakes, or the beach, and traveled the globe after retirement including countries from Egypt and Israel to down under in Australia and New Zealand.

Visitation will be Tuesday, September 15, 2020, from 10 AM until the time of services at 12 PM, at Otterbein United Methodist Church, 405 East Oxford Street, Otterbein, with Pastor Ben Cassiday. Burial, to follow, at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens, with Military Honors by Otterbein American Legion Martin Kennedy Post #125. The family welcomes your visitation but is truly understanding & is encouraging of COVID precautions.  The Cripe family would like to thank the IU Health Network, especially IU Hospice, for their care and support over the past many weeks.
