Jacob "Jake" Tarter , 48, of Fowler, died Thursday, August 15, 2024; after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born, August 1, 1976, in Lafayette to Rod Tarter & the late Carrie (Spencer) Tarter. He was a 1996 graduate of Benton Central High School. He was employed at Interstate Battery of Western Indiana; which he truly loved doing & especially his boss & all his coworkers. Jake enjoyed his morning coffee & visiting his friends at the Sundog Cafe, in Fowler, playing guitar, partying, hunting, traveling & his 1600 Yamaha motorcycle. He was a Jeep fanatic & loved the women. He also enjoyed cooking, grilling & smoking various meats.

Jake is survived by his Dad, Rod Tarter, Brother, Josh (Sandra) Tarter, Aunt & Uncle Loria & Dale Letson, 2 Aunts, Nancy Woods & Darlene Kellems & numerous Cousins.

In accordance with Jake's wishes there will be no formal services. A Celebration of Jake's Life will take place at a later date. Shoemaker Funeral Home, Otterbein, is assisting Jake's Family.
