Jean M. Jackson , 94, of Lafayette & formerly of Otterbein, died, Tuesday, November 28, 2023. She was born, January 24, 1929, in Chicago, IL, to the late Charles & Gertrude (Burkhardt) Dougherty. She married Robert Jackson, December 28, 1955, in Otterbein; he preceded her in death August 30, 2015. She was a 1947 graduate of Otterbein High School & attended Ball State. She & Bob owned the Grand Prairie Service Station, in Otterbein, She also worked at Oxford State Bank for several years. She was a member of the Otterbein United Methodist Church, DAR & the Ventura Club. Jean loved to be with family & friends. She enjoyed spending winters in Florida, traveling, especially a trip to Europe & an Alaskan cruise.

Jean is survived by a Daughter, Cheryl (Husband, Greg) Shake, Son, Todd Jackson, 2 Grandchildren, Jordan & Justin Shake & 3 Great-Grandchildren, Sadie & Aya Shake & Liam White. She is preceded in death by 2 Sons, Randy & Terry Jackson & a Brother & Sister-in-Law, Jack & Jessie Dougherty.

Visitation will be Saturday, December 2, 2023, from 10 AM until time of services at 11 AM, at the Otterbein United Methodist Church, 405 East Oxford Street, Otterbein, with Pastor Kelly Sellers officiating. Burial will be at Pond Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Otterbein United Methodist Church. Shoemaker Funeral Home, Otterbein, is assisting Jean's Family.
