Jean Ann Ness , 87, of Otterbein, died Wednesday, September 16, 2026. She was born, October 7, 1938, in Lafayette, to the late Frank & Regina (Datzman) Gick. She married William H. Ness, May 11, 1963, in Lafayette; he preceded her in death, December 28, 1992. Jean Ann was a 1956 graduate of St. Francis High School, in Lafayette & attended Ivy Tech. She had worked at Purdue University in the Theatre & the Speech & Audiology Departments; retiring in 2002. Jean Ann enjoyed reading, playing on her iPad, crocheting & watching TV, especially church services, Golden Girls, Say Yes to the Dress & wrestling.

Jean Ann is survived by her 2 Sons, Gary (Amanda) Ness & Tony (Laura) Ness, Daughter, Sherri Pruitt, 2 Grandchildren, Sherman (Maddi) Pruitt & Annie (Cole) Szwarz, Great-Granddaughter, Emmilou Pruitt, 3 Brothers, Jim Gick, Frank (Carol) Gick & Martin (Rita) Gick, Sister-in-Law, Marilyn Gick & numerous Nieces & Nephews. She is preceded in death by her Brother, Joe Gick & 2 Sisters-in-Law, Barb Gick & Donna Gick.
