John L. Peters II , 62, of Otterbein, passed away in his residence on Friday, October 6, 2023. He was born, November 12, 1960, to John L. Peters I and E. Maxine (Fulks) Peters who preceded him in death in 2005 and 2022 respectively. John was a 1979 graduate of Benton Central High School. He spent most of his life farming, raising various livestock, and not wanting to leave his 4 acres, which makes it fitting that he took his last breath there. Throughout his life, John held various factory positions, including Mud Hog, Subaru and most recently Cargill where he never met someone who he couldn't "hardass".
John is survived by his daughters - Jennifer (Russ) Wetli, Jessica (Cory) Hollingsworth, and Ashley (Shannon) Boss, as well as loving grandchildren - Aidan, Isabelle, Oliver & Eleanor Wetli; Hailey, Colin, Paige & Kailynn Hollingsworth and Lilyann Peters. He is also survived by Shawn Klemme who was the son he never had, and his family. Also survived is a sister, Tammy Sanders and brother, Mike Peters. He was preceded in death by a sister, Becky Jones and nephew Jason Whitaker.

In light of his wishes, no formal services will take place. Instead, his family would like to invite you to visit his beloved 4 acres on his birthday - Sunday, November 12th, 2023 between 1pm-5pm to share stories and give him hell one more time.
