Joyce E. Bowers , 83, of Oxford & formerly of Boswell, died, Sunday, May 21, 2023. She was born, December 6, 1939, in Danville, IL, to the late Jay T. & Juanita (Wells) Perkins. She married, Charles "Sonny" Bowers, October 17, 1958, in Boswell; he preceded her in death, May, 15, 1995. She was a former member of the Boswell Church of Christ. She was a homemaker & cleaned numerous homes in the Boswell area. Joyce loved spending time with her Grandchildren & visiting with friends. She enjoyed going on walks, embroidery & was extremely artistic.

Joyce is survived by a Daughter, Jo Ellen (John) DeVine, 2 Sons, Rick (Marina) Bowers & Mike (Vanessa) Bowers, 10 Grandchildren, 16 Great-Grandchildren, 3 Sisters, Donna Morlan, Bonnie Sue Yonkers & Mona Hill & 2 Brothers, Kenny & Butch Perkins. She is preceded in death by 2 Brothers, Bill & Denny Perkins.

Visitation will be Thursday, May 25, 2023, from 11 AM until 1 PM, at Shoemaker Funeral Home, Otterbein. Casual Attire is requested by Joyce's Family. Private Family burial will take place at Boswell Cemetery with Pastor Gary Sims officiating.
