Kenneth "Kenny" L. Dowell , 69, of Fowler, died, Sunday, September 24, 2023, surrounded by his family & friends. He was born May 5, 1954, in Liberty, Kentucky, to the late Kenneth "Ike" & Nellie W. (Baldock) Dowell. He was a 1972 graduate of Benton Central High School. Kenny pursued several careers during his lifetime. He worked for Free Grain, The Newton County Stone Quarry, owned his own photography studio & retired from the Lafayette United States Postal Service in 2019; after 17 years of service.

Kenny never met a stranger. He loved getting to know the members on his delivery route. He enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson, drinking coffee, music, wolves & watching NASCAR. He was proud of his 43 years of sobriety. His favorite pastime of all was talking & telling stories among his friends & family. Kenny met the love of his life, Kara, in 2008, as a result of a blind date. They married in 2017. During their relationship they had several fur children. Kenny leaves behind Roy; whom he became inseparable with after his retirement.

Kenny is survived by his wife, Kara; 2 Brothers, Ed Dowell (Melony) & Chip Dowell (Jackie); 2 Children, Deanna Whitlow & Cory Dowell (Jami) & best friend, Bud Hill. Kenny was blessed with 9 Grandchildren, 3 Great-Grandchildren, 2 Nephews, 3 Nieces, 3 Great-Nephews & 3 Great-Nieces. Kenny was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles & several of his beloved pets; including Homie, Hank, Sasha, Zack & Pee Wee.

A Celebration of Kenny's Life will be Saturday, October 7, 2023, from 1 PM until the time of Memorial Service at 4 PM, at Shoemaker Funeral Home, Otterbein. Casual attire is requested by Kenny's Family. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Wolf Park, 4004 E. 800 N., Battle Ground, IN 47920.
