Lawrence "Gil" Smith , 71, of Oxford, died Saturday, February, 1, 2025. He was born, August 8, 1953, in Lafayette, to the late Clarence "Smitty" & Velma Josephine (Tremble) Smith. He married Benita (Bruner) Smith, October 22, 1977, in Oxford; she survives. Gil retired from Wabash National. He enjoyed camping, traveling, playing euchre & watching "This Old House" on TV.

Gil is survived by his Wife, Benita Smith, 2 Sons, Jason & Jayme Smith, Sister, Jovita Smith, Step-Grandchildren, Michael Cail & Schuy, Brooke & Mika Maxson, 4 Step-Great-Grandchildren & several Nieces & Nephews. He is preceded in death by a Brother, Terry Smith.
