Lela F. Chaffee, 89, of Oxford, died at 7:26 PM, Wednesday, March 14, 2018, at Franciscan Health Lafayette East. She was born, January 8, 1929, in Warren County, to the late Ray & Goldie (Scruggs) Hosterman. She was a 1948 graduate of Pine Village High School. Lela married, LaVerne Chaffee, August 26, 1948, in Oxford; he died February 20, 2015. She was a homemaker & had worked at the Benton Review from 1981 to 1988. She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Oxford. Lela enjoyed bowling & gardening.

She is survived by 3 Sons, Michael L. Chaffee, Frankfort, Christopher R. Chaffee (Wife, Diane), Clovis CA & Steven M. Chaffee, Lafayette, 6 Grandchildren & 11 Great-Grandchildren. She is preceded in death by 7 Sisters & 1 Brother.

Visitation will be, Saturday, March 17, 2018, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 504 S. Michigan St., Oxford, from 10 AM until the time of the Funeral Mass at 12 PM, with Father Robert Klemme officiating. Shoemaker Funeral Home, Otterbein, is assisting Lela's Family.
