Leslie "Les" LeSuer , of Ankeny, Iowa, passed away at home on Saturday, February 22, 2025, at the age of 90. He was born to Evelyn Jennie Wagner and Arthur Allen LeSuer on August 30, 1934, in Sauk Centre, Minnesota. Leslie graduated from Glenwood High School in 1954.
Les married Wanda Alpin in 1956. After her passing, he married Genevieve Clawson in Tulsa, Oklahoma, on April 5, 1972. They lived in Des Moines until her passing in 2009. In 2015, Leslie met Janice Neal, and they shared a companionship until his death.
Les had a lifelong interest in photography, starting as a hobby and later working as a school photographer in Nebraska and running his own studio. He then worked at Montgomery Ward selling appliances and then as a traveling salesman for Sysco Restaurant Distribution Services, helping new restaurants set up kitchens and providing essential supplies.
Les enjoyed woodworking, craftsmanship, and fishing, especially time spent on his boat. He was generous with his family, friends, and charities, and valued spending time with others.
Leslie is survived by his companion, Janice Neal; his sister, Helen Rosen; his step-son, Tom (Margo) Clawson; and his step-grandchildren: Jared (Erin), Justin, Jeremy, and Tanner (Chelsea) Clawson. He is also survived by Janice's children: Scott (Deedee) Neal, Wesley (Judy) Neal, and Sheri Neal; and their grandchildren: Toby (Marlene) Neal, Turner (Hannah) Neal, Ethan (Emma) Neal, Andrea (Eric) Ooms, Haley (Josh) Long, Katrin Fischer, Jacob Fischer, Jordan (Deaven) Lytton, and Tessa (Peter) O'Cain; and great-grandchildren Rosalie and Fredrick Neal, Lou Neal, Samuel, Elizabeth, Margaret, and Arie Ooms, Natalie Long, Kota and Jami Lytton, and Avery O'Cain. He is also survived by nieces and nephews Stephen, Deborah, and Patricia Rolseth, and Tom and Arthur LeSuer. He is also survived by 20 nieces and nephews in his Kirsch family.
Leslie was preceded in death by his wives, Wanda and Genevieve; his parents, Evelyn and Arthur; and his siblings, Shirley (Ralph) Rolseth, Marvin Rosen, and Arthur (Frances) LeSuer. He was also preceded in death by his sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Joseph (Florence) Kirsch, Wilfred (Miriam) Kirsch, Clarence (Dolores) Kirsch, Sr Antoinette (Hilda) Kirsch, Ann Kirsch Brennon, Marie (Joseph) VanDame and Helen (Sylvester) Greives as well as 5 nieces and nephews.

He and Gen enjoyed visits to Indiana to see niece Elaine (Chris) Flynn and nephews Tony (Mary) Greives, Dan (Mary Ann) Kirsch, Jerry Kirsch and Don Van Dame as well as others.

A Catholic Burial and interment will take place Monday, March 3, 2025 at 12:00 PM at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Dunnington, Indiana, where Leslie will be buried beside his wife, Genevieve.
