Mary Diane Dunwoody , 75, of West Lafayette, Indiana, passed away peacefully on February 6, 2022. She was born on July 2, 1946 to Stanley and Mary Anne Jarosinski of Chicago, Illinois. Diane married Charles D. Dunwoody on February 14, 1998 and never wasted one moment of their life together. They had many hobbies together that provided beautiful friendships and all who have become like family. Her church family at the Otterbein United Methodist Church has been her lifeline, and in recent days her prayer warriors. Though we can't name them all, they know who they are, and we can't thank them enough for all their love and fun over the years.

Diane had many talents with two career pathways, including a beautician when she moved to West Lafayette in 1974 followed by a second career as a corrections officer for over 20 years for the Tippecanoe County Jail and later for the Tippecanoe County Corrections. She was active in service for others, including as an EMT and the first woman volunteer firefighter for the Otterbein Volunteer Fire Department in the 1980's. It was also at that time, in addition to styling hair; she was a freelance photographer, cake decorator, and floral arranger – the one-stop-shop wedding extraordinaire for many Otterbeinite brides.

Diane is survived by her husband, Chuck, and daughters Ellen Harshman (Robert Sheldon), Teresa Walker (Bill), bonus sons Brian McCarty and Doug Dunwoody (Kelly) and bonus daughter Dawn Runner (Bart). With her blended family, she was blessed with many grandchildren whom all she adored, including Nicholas Morris, Payton Alkire, Maggie, Molly, Sam and Charlie Walker, Austin and Hayden Harshman, Maren and Jenna McCarty, Ashton, Bayleigh, and Cameron Runner, Drake, Brooke, Delaney, and Levi Dunwoody, and great-grandson, Desmond Morris. The oldest sibling and celebrated matriarch of her family, she is also survived by her siblings Michael Jarosinski of Joilet, IL, Cathy Glidden (Ted) of Romeoville, IL, Annie Schaefer (Daniel) of Woodridge, IL, Susan Jarosinski (Ben McEvoy) of Bolingbrook, IL, and in-laws Harry and Penny Dunwoody of West Lafayette, IN. Her siblings made her a proud aunt to many nieces and nephews, including her Godchild Miranda (Joel) Campbell. She is preceded by the death of her parents.

Visitation for friends and family will take place at the Otterbein United Methodist Church, 405 E. Oxford Street, Otterbein, Indiana 47970, on Thursday, February 10, 2022, from 10:00 AM-12:00 PM.
