Mechelle Kay Gaylord , 72, of West Lafayette, died Sunday, April 1, 2018, after a courageous battle with Cancer. She was born, May 12, 1945, in Lafayette, to the late Robert H. & Mary Jane (McLaughlin) Smith. She married David Gaylord, April 8, 2000, in Fowler; he survives. Mechelle was a member of Crestview Community Church. She enjoyed raising her Children, Spending time with her Grandchildren, taking care of people, gardening, flowers, cooking, loved to travel & meeting new people. Mechelle had worked as a CNA at Green-Hill Manor, Fowler, a supervisor & phlebotomist at Indiana Regional Blood Center, Lafayette & at Casey's, Fowler.

Surviving with her Husband David, West Lafayette, are 3 Daughters, Joyce Hernandez (Husband, Artie Dow), Jackson, MS, Kathy Puetz (Husband, Ron), West Lafayette & Mary Cox, Largo, FL, a Son, James David Moyars (Wife, Maryellen), Lafayette, 4 Grandchildren, Kevin Graham, Shelia Wagner, Stephanie Brown & Scott Harvey, 10 Great-Grandchildren & a Sister, Janet Hahn, Lafayette. She is preceded in death by Son, Michael David Moyars & Grandson, Michael Christopher Harvey.

Visitation will be Friday, April 6, 2018, at Shoemaker Funeral Home, Otterbein, from 10 AM until time of services at 12 PM with Pastor Thom Redmond officiating. Burial will be at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Crestview Community Church Building Fund.
