Norma E. Gray , 99, of West Lafayette, died, Thursday, July 16, 2026. She was born, May 25, 1927, in Tippecanoe County, to the late Thomas A. & Helen B. (Gatten) Hinckley. She married Frank E. Gray, August 10, 1947, Weaver Chapel United Methodist Church; he preceded her in death, July 12, 1984. Norma was a 1945 graduate of Montmorenci High School. She worked for several years in Civil Engineering, at Purdue University. She was a member of the former Weaver Chapel United Methodist Church, now the Weaver Chapel Community Church, where she was very active. She was also a member of the Homemakers Club, Weaver Chapel United Methodist Women & Purdue Choral Club. Norma loved spending time with her family & friends, going to her grandkids activities, playing piano, sewing, crocheting,

Norma is survived by her Daughter, Joy Fortner, Son-in-Law, Jim Murphy, 5 Grandchildren, Terrance (Terah) Plante, Janna (Alec) Weise, Jacqi (Brody) Murphy, Timothy Plante, & Thomas (Jenny) Plante, 14 Great-Grandchildren, Samantha (Kaleb) Jenkins, Granger & Haven Weise, Daisy Plante, Jaycub Williams, Logan, Mathew, Kalyn & Nyle Davis, Molly Curtin, Josiah Callahan, Timothy Jr & Alexia Plante & Kelly Whitlock, Great-Great- Grandchildren, Evelyn & Karter Jenkins, Dominic Pellegino & Jayce Whitlock, Sister, Evelyn Terry & several Nieces & Nephews. She is preceded in death by her Husband, Frank, Daughter, Melody Murphy, Granddaughter, Jimmel Murphy, Sister, Janet (Martin) Staley, Brother, Gordon (June) Hinckley & Brother-in-Law, George.

Visitation will be, Thursday, July 23, 2026, from 10 AM until the time of service at 12 PM, at Shoemaker Funeral Home, Otterbein, with David Gray officiating.
