Patricia Ann (Chenoweth) Martin Phillips passed away on March 9th, 2025. She was born in Gary, Indiana on June 25th, 1931, to the late Paul S. and Liella (Romel) Chenoweth. She lived on a farm west of Otterbein, IN, and said growing up on a farm was the best part of her childhood. Patricia was an Otterbein High School graduate of 1949 and attended Purdue University. She married Robert D. Martin, M.D., on September 2nd, 1951, the boy she met in the first grade. After Bob graduated from medical school, they lived for many years in Arizona, moving back to Indiana in retirement. Pat helped manage her husband's medical office for many years. She also taught medical assistants. She enjoyed traveling, gardening, oil painting, and exploring the Arizona wilderness. Pat said her greatest achievement was earning her private pilot license and flying their small airplane. Pat was married to Bob for 57 years and he died in 2008. After Bob's passing, she reconnected and married O.M. Phillips, M.D., an old friend from Arizona. He died in 2014, and she again returned to reside in West Lafayette, IN. Pat was a member of the Otterbein United Methodist Church.

Pat is survived by brother, John R. Chenoweth, D.O., nieces, Cheryl Martin (Dan) and Elizabeth Conatser (Blake), nephews, David Chenoweth (Cheryl), Steven Chenoweth (Michelle), and Markham Chenoweth (Laura) and cousin, Julie Martin. She also has many great-nieces and nephews, and special friends, Jean Harshbarger and Harold Honea. She is preceded in death by parents Paul and Liella Chenoweth, spouses, Robert D. Martin, M.D. and O.M. Phillips, M.D., sister-in-law, Chelta Chenoweth, nephew, Douglas Chenoweth, and great nephew, Steven Chenoweth Jr.

Visitation will be Saturday, March 15, 2025, from 1 PM until time of Services at 2 PM, with Pastor Kelly Sellers officiating, at Shoemaker Funeral Home, Otterbein. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Almost Home Humane Society or Lafayette Salvation Army.
