Randall Alan Stephen , 77, of Ambia, IN passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 20, 2022 at Franciscan Health East in Lafayette, Indiana. He was born on February 5, 1945 to the late Donald & Elizabeth (Vorick) Stephen. Randall was an only child, but his cousin Larry Stephen (wife Cheryl) was like a brother to him. They shared a special friendship his entire life.

Randall proudly served our country in the Air Force during the Vietnam War.

Randall was a lifelong resident of Ambia, IN. He was a 1963 graduate of Ambia High School & a member of the Sectional basketball team. He married his best friend, Paula Brost in 1975 & together had 3 children, Jessica Morin, Drew Stephen (wife Kelli) & Ashley Stephen who all survive. Randall shared a very special bond with his only son, Drew. He loved to go "cruising" with Drew & whether it was visiting the flea market at Gordyville or their traditional shopping trip every Christmas Eve he treasured any time spent with his only son!

Randall's favorite title was what his grandchildren called him, PA. Randall has 5 grandchildren, Sierra Morin, Blake Morin, Brock Morin, Chase Williams & Raylan Stephen. PA loved spending time with them. He loved watching Sierra dance & play softball. Being the first grandchild & only girl, they shared a very special bond & she had PA wrapped around her finger from the day she was born. PA shared a very special bond with Blake over all things' sports. The 2 of them spent countless hours watching ball games & talking strategy. Randall also loved his sports cars & he loved to talk about his fast cars from his youth with Brock. The two of them could have conversations for hours! Pa was always ready to make a run to DQ with his grandkids & they loved those little trips with him not just for the ice cream! Often, he would take the kids "rock" hunting to add rocks to his collection & then they ended the day at DQ.   Raylan was the newest addition to the family & Pa adored him. Pa loved to play with all of the hot wheels cars with Raylan & he loved surprising Raylan with new ones almost every visit.

Randall loved sports; especially the Cincinnati Reds, IU Basketball, the Colts & Jeff Gordon. He loved coaching all of his children in baseball & softball. Later on, he loved watching all of his grandkids play. He also loved history & shared this with his kids & grandchildren.

Randall also loved dogs and truly wanted to save every one he met. There came a point where Paula had to stop him from visiting the animal shelter in person because every single time he came home with another dog. He loved to support the area shelters, as well as several nonprofits that help veterans.

The family will be having a Celebration of Life dinner after the holidays.
