Richard L. "Dick" Moore , 94, of Otterbein, passed away on October 22, 2023 at IU Arnett Hospital. He was born December 8, 1928 to the late Leslie W. & Mary E. (Wilkins) Moore. On August 3, 1958, he married the love of his life, Mary F. (Matthews) Moore, at the Cutler Presbyterian Church in Cutler, IN. Dick & Mary celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary this past August.

Dick was a 1947 graduate of Otterbein High School & 1951 graduate of Purdue University. He served in the U.S. Army from 1951 to 1953, being honorably discharged. After his service, Dick returned to Otterbein & was a grain & livestock farmer. Dick was a life-long member of the Otterbein United Methodist Church, where he served as the Treasurer for many years. In addition to the church, Dick was active in many organizations around Otterbein & Benton County. Dick was the past president of the Benton Community School Board & served as a Benton County Council member for 40 yrs. Dick, along with Mary, also served on the Otterbein Public Library board. The Otterbein Public Library honored Dick & Mary by having a room in the library named on their behalf. Dick was a member of the American Legion Post #125 & the Otterbein Masonic Lodge #561. Dick was a life-long Boilermaker fan & enjoyed attending Purdue women's basketball & football games.

Dick is survived by his wife, Mary, his brother, John W. (Sherry) Moore, his 2 sisters, Jane Lowe (Jim) & Kay Sackett; his four sons, Richard D. (Rachel), Douglas R (Lindsey), Brian D. (Shwu Hui Ellen) & Kenton M. (Kara); his grandchildren Kaley Long, Clint (Bailey) Moore, Hillary (Austin) Eltzroth, Cade, Chase, Calli & Caitlyn Snethen, Henry Thomas, Reid, Mary Catherine, Kaelan, Jacob & Lucas Moore; his great-grandchildren Sydney Long, Knox, Hank & Briar Moore & Korbin, Kensley & Shelbey Eltzroth. Dick was preceded in death by his mother & father & his daughter-in-law, Shelley J. Moore.

Visitation and Celebration of Life will be held, on Friday, October 27, 2023, at the Otterbein United Methodist Church, 405 E. Oxford St., Otterbein, IN, with visitation from 10 AM until services at 12 PM, with Masonic Service at 11:45 AM. Burial will be at Pond Grove Cemetery with Military Honors by Otterbein American Legion Martin Kennedy post #125. In lieu of flowers, memorial contribution may be made to the Otterbein Public Library, PO Box 550, Otterbein, IN 47970 or the Otterbein United Methodist Church, 405 E.
