Roy Eugene Bryant , 81, of Otterbein, died Tuesday, April 23, 2024; surrounded by his loving family. He was born June 3, 1942, in Otterbein, to the late Jesse & Hazel (Wilson) Bryant. He married Sherry (Johnston) Bryant, September 2, 1962, in Otterbein; she survives. Roy was a 1960 graduate of Otterbein High School & graduated from Purdue University, in 1969, with a BA in Education. He retired from Greater Lafayette Health Services, Inc., where he worked for several years in the educational services department before serving as the Director of Audio-Visual Services. Early in his career, Roy was a teacher and coach at Williamsport High School. He also held positions at Rea Magnet Wire, Journal & Courier newspaper & Dynamic Corp. In the early and mid 70's he and a partner operated The Otterbein Coin Shop; he was owner/proprietor of R&S Antiques, in Boswell, painted & roofed houses with his brother Gordon. Roy was a member of the Otterbein United Methodist Church & a founding member of the Illiana Antique Power Association. He previously served on the Otterbein Town Council.  He was an avid softball player for Brummet Seeds & coached Little League Baseball for several years. Roy enjoyed spending time with his family, collecting antiques, including post cards, Dan Patch memorabilia, circus paper, hit & miss engines, local advertising, Otterbein/Benton County historical paper and photos, coins & cameras. Roy was a lifelong diehard Chicago White Sox fan.

Roy is survived by his Wife, Sherry Bryant, 4 Children, Robert (Omaria) Bryant, Charles (Susan) Bryant, Kathryn Bryant & Rosemary (Don) Dennis, Daughter-in-Law, Lori Bryant, 10 Grandchildren, Nathan Bryant, Marissa (Jayden) Fackelman, Lina (Jeffrey) Tietelbaum, Katie Gonzalez, Rachelle (Kurtis) Schultz-Sluss, Noelle (Bailey) Schultz-Lovett, Landon & Alexis Dennis & Andrew & Ryan Soria, 2 Great-Grandchildren, Mateo Tietelbaum & Sophia Fackelman & many other Nieces & Nephews. He is preceded in death by a Son, Christopher Bryant, Grandson, Matthew Soria & 3 Siblings, Leland (Vera) Bryant, Gordon (Norma) Bryant & Lois (Ken) Meadows.

Visitation will be held, Wednesday, May 1, 2024, at the Otterbein United Methodist Church, 405 E. Oxford St., Otterbein, IN with visitation from 10 AM until services at 12 PM, with Pastor Kelly Sellers & Pastor Gary Sims officiating. Burial will be at Pond Grove Cemetery.
