Samuel (Sam) Jones , 57, of West Lafayette, IN was promoted to his eternal heavenly home on Tuesday, May 5, 2026. He was surrounded by his family at home.

Sam was born on November 12, 1968, to Robert (Vern) and Christine (Richardson) Jones. He was a 10-year member of 4-H. Sam attended Bob Jones University after graduating High School. He worked in road safety for 12 years, mainly as a road painter. He striped many roads in Indiana and the surrounding states. His family would often hear, "Hey, I painted this road" or "What a crappy striping job."  He later worked in the propane side of Ceres Solutions in customer service. Sam was definitely a hands-on person and there wasn't any sort of mechanical issue he was afraid to tackle.

On February 19, 1994 Sam married his wife, Kassandra Livengood. Sam deeply loved his whole family. He treasured time with them, especially gathering around the table. Feeding the people he loved was one of the ways he showed his care and devotion, whether it was cooking Saturday morning breakfasts for his family or creating his many favorite cheesecake flavors.

Sam loved his Saviour, Jesus Christ, and sought to honor Him in all he did, especially through his servant's heart. That servant's heart extended to many others, as Sam found great joy in bringing people together through food, fellowship, and service. He dearly loved his church family at Berean Baptist Church, where he faithfully served in many different areas. He could often be found helping in his church's kitchen during special events. His love for feeding people also extended to preparing rehearsal dinners for the Christus Homines Drama Troupe and the Warren County 4-H food building.

Sam didn't know a stranger and was especially fond of striking up conversations with military veterans. Sam loved traditional old hymns. His favorite, "It Is Well with My Soul" brought him special comfort.
Sam's life touched many people, who rejoice to see him with the Lord but miss him dearly here on earth. He is survived by Kassandra, his wife of 32 years; their children, Israel Jones, Isaiah Jones, Ruth Dowell (Vincent), Naomi Wallace (Emmitt), Gabriel Jones, Esperanza Jones, Hadassah Jones, Abigail Jones,  Levi Jones, and Grace Jones; and two grandchildren. He is also survived by his parents, Robert Vern and Christine Jones, and two brothers, Daniel Jones and Benjamin Jones. His sister, Lynne (Jones) Fox, preceded him in death.
"Thank-you" does not suffice to express how much the family appreciates all the love, support, and encouragement given throughout Sam's battle with cancer and now, in his absence. Thank you, especially, to the church family at Berean Baptist Church; the homeschool community; previous co-workers; and Guardian Angel hospice.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, May 16th at 10 a.m. at Redeeming Grace Church, 2212 Yeager Road, West Lafayette, IN. Because of Sam's love of food and fellowshipping around a meal, in lieu of a traditional viewing and visitation, the family would like you to join them after the service for lunch and fellowship.
