Stanley Eugene Meredith , 76, of Oxford, passed away Tuesday, January 16, 2024 peacefully in his home. He was born December 18, 1947 in Moline, IL to the late Vernon & Bonnie (Glidden) Meredith. He was a 1966 graduate of Oxford High School. He married his high school sweetheart/soul mate Charlotte Ann (Graves) Meredith, January 18, 1969, in Ambia Christian Church. Stan was retired from Plumbers & Steamfitters Local #157 and worked for several years with Verdi Mechanical as a Draft Engineer. He was a member of the Oxford United Methodist Church as well as a member of Masonic Lodge #315 (Pine Village).
Stan was a gifted artist and musician. He avidly shared his love of music with all that knew him. He was a member of the bands The Sweet Nothings, Heritage, and Feeler. Stan loved golf; from playing to watching and supporting his grandkids play. During the summers, he loved to sit outside and watch golfers come up on hole number 10.
Stan went to the Dan Patch Cafe almost every morning- his morning meetings at the round table meant a lot to him. Almost everyone he met he told the story of his walking cane too, if you know you know! Most of all, he loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He told everyone about how proud he was of every single one of them, and made a point to be an active supporter in their lives. He loved teaching them, enjoyed telling them stories, along with just being in their presence and watching them grow.
Stan is survived by his Wife, Charlotte, Daughter, Tabitha Meredith Geswein (Troy Taylor), Son, Erin (Aaron) Meredith, 7 Grandchildren, Aaron (Carlee) Geswein, Austin (Tabatha) Geswein, Alexa Geswein, Abigail (Austin) Voils, Hunter (Madilyn) Meredith, Jacob Meredith and Braelyn Meredith, 5 Great-Grandchildren, Noah Geswein, Harrison Geswein, Paisley Geswein, Meredith Voils, Shafer Geswein, In-Laws, Patricia (Joe "Howard") Looker, Katie (Bruce) Butts, Tom (Karen) Graves.
Stan was preceded in death by his Father, Vernon, his Mother, Bonnie, Father and Mother-in-Law, Harold and Thelma Graves, and Brothers-in-Law, Leon and Ricky Graves.
There will be a Celebration of Life for Stan held on February 3, 2024 at Oxford United Methodist Church, 215 S Howard St, Oxford IN 47971. With visiting hours 10 AM-11:45 AM, with Masonic Service at 11:45 AM and a service led by Pastor Linda Sproull starting at 12 PM. Casual attire is requested.
