Thomas James Lamie , 88, of Fowler, died, Friday, April 28, 2023. He was born December 12, 1934, in Earl Park, to the late Scyler Joseph & Leona Pauline (Quinn) Lamie. He married Frances B. "Connie" (Crane) Lamie, June 9, 1962, in Watseka, IL; she died, January 24, 2002. He was a 1953 graduate of Gilboa High School and served in the Army National Guard of Indiana from 1957 until 1960. Tom owned and operated Lamie's Amoco Service Station in Fowler for 40 years. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Fowler American Legion Post #57. Tom enjoyed bowling, golfing, poker, antiques, cars, all sports, particularly baseball, and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan. Tom never knew a stranger and loved sharing stories with family and friends.

Tom is survived by his 5 children, Thomas (wife, Lynn) Lamie, April Carver, Christian Lamie, Jennifer Lamie, and Ashley (husband, Andy) Higgins; 9 grandchildren, Alexis and Allison Lamie, Lillianne, Asa and Addison Carver, Alyssa, Abygale, Ashland and Aubery Higgins; 3 great-grandchildren, Jaylee, Jaxon and Skylar Carver; brother, Ronald (wife, Ruth) Lamie, sister-in-law, Clara Lamie, and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, he is preceded in death by his grandson Andrew Thomas Higgins and 11 siblings, Herschel, Kenneth, Leo, Melvin, John, Cletus, Charles, Mary Catherine, Bernard, Marie, and Donald.

Visitation will be, Wednesday, May 3, 2023, from 4-7 PM (EST), with rosary at 3:45 PM, at Shoemaker Funeral Home, 26 S. Main Street, Otterbein. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Thursday, May 4, 2023, at 10 AM (EST), 107 E. Main St., Fowler, IN, with Father Peter Vanderkolk officiating. Burial will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Fowler, with Military Honors by the Fowler American Legion Post #57.
