Wanda Lucile (Moore) Martin, 87, of Monticello, IN passed away, Saturday, May 25, 2024, at home surrounded by family. Wanda was born March 26, 1937, just outside Attica, IN close to the old Big Pine Golf Course to Ross Cobb and Esther Lucile Hamilton Moore. Wanda met the love of her life Richard Melvin Martin at a free show in Independence, IN and they were married October 29, 1955. Dick preceded her in death on October 26, 2003. Wanda babysat, cleaned houses, cooked at Pine Village School, was 4H Leader in Warren and Benton Counties, delivered the J&C newspaper on a motor route for 11 years, and retired as a Rural Mail Carrier from Monticello Post Office after 22 plus years in 2003.

Wanda enjoyed Crafts, Sewing, Card Club, Church Groups, Spending time with Family (She didn't miss any of the children, grandchildren, or great grandchildren's activities if possible), antiquing, Flea Markets, Covered Bridge Festival with her daughters, traveling (Especially cruises with Dick, then her daughter Chris after Dick passed away). Benton Central Girls Basketball, Yard Work and playing Softball back in the day. She also enjoyed her all-expense paid trips to El Paso with her daughter Shelly.

Wanda is survived by her Children, son Randy (Gayle) Martin, daughter Chris (Cindy) Martin, daughter Shelly (Gail) Philebaum, and brother Robert Moore. Grandchildren Craig Martin, Courtney (Travis) Griffith, Christie (Donnie Wills) Martin, Jeremiah (Shelby) Blankman, Jonathon (Taylor Hughes) Blankman, Jordan (Katelyn Hanford)) Blankman. Great-Grandchildren Allysha (Marcus Johns) Griffith, Mackenzie (Michael Insco) Griffith, Kaidyn, Blaik and Abbigail Griffith, Lillian and Lanie Martin, Madison (Steven Summers) Emmons, Brayton and Averie Munsey, Jayden and Karrah Blankman, and Grayson Blankman. Great-Great-Granddaughter's Ottalie Summers and Sophia Johns, and a 3rd Great-Great Grandchild on the way, due in December. Surviving are numerous special nieces and nephews. Also surviving are Beth Martin, Jeff Blankman, Chelsea Rinker, Brandon Emmons, John Munsey, Kristen Martin, Gage and Joel Veach, lifetime friend Jenny Taylor and lifetime middle daughter Crystal Jones. Also preceding her were Brother Moris Gene Moore, Sister Phylis Eileen Reynolds, Brother-in-law George Reynolds, Sister-in-law Shirley Moore, Grandson Trevor Anthony Martin, Great Grandson Landyn Levi Griffith, and Lifetime friend Joan Jones.

Wanda has been surrounded by family and friends. Special thanks to Granddaughter Christie Martin for all the sacrifices you made to make sure Grandma had the best care ever at home. Also, to family friend Chris Ryker, and IU Hospice for all the special care at home.

Viewing will be at Shoemaker Funeral Home in Otterbein, IN on Thursday May 30, 2024, from 5pm-8pm and the Service will be on Friday May 31, 2024, at 11am with Pastor Brian Beeks & Pastor Paul Stamm officiating. Interment to follow at Pine Village Cemetery in Pine Village, IN. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Riley Children's Hospital.
