William J. "Bill" Childress , 93, of Boswell, died, Thursday, January 25, 2018. He was born, January 12, 1925, in Lochiel, IN, to the late William A. & Mabel (Dimmich) Childress. He married, Helen (Felix) Childress, June 18, 1950, in Boswell; she died, January 1, 2007. Bill graduated from Boswell High School in 1943 & from Purdue University in 1950, with a degree in Electrical Engineering. He had served in the United States Navy. Bill was a Farmer & also worked, as a repairman, at Johnson TV, in Boswell, for 20+ years. He was a member of the Boswell American Legion Post #476. He enjoyed aviation, model building & tinkering with anything mechanical or electrical.

Bill is survived by, Daughter, Rita (Husband, John) Manning, 3 Sons, Richard (Wife, Gayla) Childress, David (Wife, Pat) Childress & Dean (Wife, Tamme) Childress, 6 Grandchildren, Christopher, Michael, Rachel, Derek, Dana & Kristen & 5 Great-Grandchildren.

A Memorial Service celebrating Bill's life will be at 4 PM, Thursday, February 1, 2018, at the Boswell Church of Christ, 310 S. Clinton St., Boswell, with Andrew Felix & Tim Staton officiating. A gathering of Family & Friends, to reminisce old times & to share memories will take place immediately following the services. In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Boswell American Legion Post #476 or Boswell-Grant Township Public Library.
